For the world cruise, you need to contact Royal Caribbean directly or your local travel agent to find out about availability and price. You may by now have seen the updated information regarding the Civitavecchia Express Train, if not here is the latest information:
CIVITAVECCHIA EXPRESS 2024: TRAVEL INFORMATION
The Civitavecchia Express will run until November 1, 2024 with two daily trains: the first train departs from Civitavecchia at 09.07 am (from 1st to 23rd April, to allow for works along the railway line, departure from Civitavecchia is brought forward by 10 minutes) and arrives in Roma Ostiense at 10.10 am; the second train departs from Roma Ostiense at 4.30 pm and arrives in the harbor city at 5.20. In both cases, the train only makes one intermediate stop at Roma San Pietro station.

The train’s ticket guarantees a seat: once the 718 seats available for each line have been reached, ticket sales will be suspended. You can book your train tickets through Omio on the Trenitalia website

How exciting for your upcoming cruise from Trieste and your visit to Venice! We were in Venice again just 3 weeks ago and stayed in the Santa Croce district close to the Santa Lucia train station on Venice island. Staying in this area means you are walking distance to St. Mark’s Square and all major sites in Venice, and also close to the train station for your onward journey to Trieste.
From our hotel, we walked everywhere, it really is a good location. The Vaporetto (water buses) are also very close by if you prefer to travel in this way instead of walking.
Buying transportation tickets is very self-explanatory once you are there from the machines outside the train station or inside at the info desks.
Hotels such as CHC Continental BW Hotel or the Hotel Carlton on the Grand are within walking distance of the station. You can find more hotels we recommend in this area on our hotel page here.
There is a direct Trentitalia regional train that takes 2 hours and 5 mins from Santa Lucia train station to Trieste Centrale. You can buy your tickets at the train station or book before you leave home through Omio and download your tickets onto their app.
In addition, if you are arriving at Venice’s Marco Polo international airport, there is a direct bus link from outside the arrivals terminal to Piazzale Roma, the transport hub on Venice island. It’s easy to buy bus tickets inside the terminal at the information desk which is signposted and buses leave regularly. They store your luggage for you as you climb onto the bus. The journey takes about 30 mins and costs around 10 eur per person. When you disembark at Piazzale Roma you can walk to the hotel if you stay near the train station. Hello Sarah, do you any updates from Trenitalia for the Civitavecchia Express for the 2024 cruise season. I have checked their websites and can not seem to find the Express. Thank you.

Tickets are often only bookable three months before your planned travel date. We are still waiting for the 2024 timetable from Trenitalia for the Civitavecchia Express Train. We will update the information on this web page as soon as we receive it. In the meantime, I recommend you check Trenitalia’s website from around March onwards for train tickets.

If your bid is successful and you win an upgrade based on your bid amount, you must pay the bid amount, and you cannot cancel your bid. If you have made a bid but have not received an answer and would like to withdraw, you must contact MSC Cruises and ask them if it’s possible to remove your bid. However, we recommend asking for written confirmation from them if they say they can do this.

Thank you for your inquiry! I would probably look for a train ticket to depart around 9 am. June is peak season, and it will be busy at the port.

Book a flexible train ticket, so if you do arrive at the station early, you may be able to travel earlier, assuming there is an earlier train. Check the schedule when booking your train ticket, as you travel on a Saturday so train times vary. There is a journey that combines a regional train, one change in Bologna, followed by the fast train (Frecciarossa) direct to Rome, which you may be able to book. It would cut down your travel time quite significantly and get you into Rome quicker.
