Princess Cruises has established itself as a leading name in the cruise industry with a magnificent fleet of ships, enticing itineraries, and opulent accommodations.
Why is Princess Cruises so appealing to cruise travelers when there are so many cruise lines to choose between? And how has the lavish world of Princess Cruises bounced back since the pandemic, which saw them scrapping four ships in their fleet?
The newest ships in the Princess fleet
Princess Cruises boasts an impressive fleet of state-of-the-art ships that redefine luxury and elegance on the high seas. The Sky Princess, Enchanted Princess, and Discovery Princess are among the newest additions to their fleet, with a capacity of around 3660 passengers.
These modern marvels offer many innovative features, including expansive outdoor spaces, top-notch entertainment options, and culinary delights to please every palate. The ships are designed to provide the utmost comfort and sophistication, ensuring an unforgettable cruising experience.
At the heart of it all is the gleaming atrium, with many bars, shops, and the International Cafe. A lot is going on here, and it’s the same regardless of which Princess ship you are on, as all the newer ships have a similar layout.
Iconic jazz at sea – Discover the vintage style of Take 5
The Take 5 jazz venue is a live music venue that showcases a variety of jazz performances, including traditional jazz, blues, and swing.
The shows are performed by talented musicians, often accompanied by guest vocalists. The cozy and intimate atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax with a classic cocktail, enjoy great music, or hit the dancefloor yourself.
Now that’s our kind of evening.
Popular itineraries
Princess Cruises offers itineraries that take travelers to breathtaking destinations across the globe. From exploring the majestic glaciers of Alaska to sun-kissed Caribbean islands and the historical wonders of the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, Princess Cruises presents a vast selection of journeys to suit your wanderlust.
Additionally, the line offers exotic sailings in Asia from Singapore, Australia from Sydney and Brisbane, New Zealand from Auckland, and beyond.
What’s included in a Princess cruise
The cuisine onboard Princess has been a winner each time we have sailed with them. There are multiple dining venues, including specialty restaurants with various menus. We love the Crown Grill and Sabatini’s.
You have complete flexibility over your dining times in the main dining room. There is no first or second seating. Reserve the time that suits you on the Princess app before you travel, or make reservations on the TV screen onboard. The buffet restaurant is to turn up and eat when you feel like it. No reservation is needed.
In addition, the Princess Medallion Class experience offers seamless and personalized service throughout your cruise with innovative technology. For example, if you order food through the app while on board, they bring it to you. They know where you are due to you wearing your Medallion.
There are two types of fares you need to look at when you book a cruise with Princess Cruises. The regular fare Princess Cruises price, then the Princess Plus fare, which is an additional charge (around USD$50 per person/day at the time of writing).
The Princess Plus fare includes the premium drinks package (all drinks for $12 or under and a maximum of 15 in any 24 hours), unlimited wifi use for one device, MedallionNet, and gratuities for the entire cruise.
When booking your cruise, you must actively choose the Princess Plus if you want the extra inclusions. Do this when booking as you will save compared to booking each item individually afterward if you change your mind.
Remember, though, that if you choose Princess Plus, everyone who stays in the same cabin must have this option.
The best cabins on the newest Princess Ships
Choose the accommodation that suits you best depending on how important your cabin onboard is to you and your available budget. Princess ships feature a selection of luxurious cabins that provide exceptional comfort and stunning views.
We like the Reserve Collection mini-suites (the new name for the Princess Club class). These mini-suites offer extra space and are typically on a higher ship deck. There is a seating area, a queen-size bed, and a large bathroom. If booking a mini-suite, you also get priority boarding and disembarkation, access to a reserved seating area at the Princess Theater, and the main dining room. On many voyages, complimentary wine awaits you in your mini-suite on embarkation day.
Spacious full suites offer lavish amenities and dedicated services among the best cabin options. The suites often include private balconies, separate living areas, upgraded bathrooms, and exclusive privileges like priority boarding on embarkation day. These accommodations provide an indulgent retreat where you can relax and revel in the lap of luxury.
